The Wild Storm #9 Meanderings + Solicitations for The Wild Storm #12 + Michael Cray #5

We are 3 issues away from the end of the first year; end of the first season (of 2).  I feel I’m a little more behind than usual with this issue.  So far, from what I hear, not much happens in this issue.  From the cover, it could be about Angela’s suit evolving or about her work in general.  From the alternate cover by Jim Lee, which is usually something related to the story, I guess there’ll be something about John Colt as a samurai!  That could be really cool!  Usually, the guest variant cover artist doesn’t really reflect what’s in the issue, and in Bryan Hitch’s cover, we see Grifter.  Will we see him featured more than usual?   

Since we are so close to issue 12, will this issue set up for something big to come for issue 12?  Let’s meander ….

The Wild Storm #8 Meanderings

Off-hand, I’m gonna guess this issue is going to open some doors to some new ideas that haven’t been introduced into this new WSU from the original WSU!  Why?  Because of the various covers for this issue.

I have a pretty good idea of who I think is on the Jim Lee and Bryan Hitch variant covers, and if I’m correct, then we’re gonna see some of my favorite parts of the original WSU!

So much to look forward to in this issue.  Thank goodness this series is 24 issues long, otherwise, the thought that there’d only be 4 more issues would be sad!  BUT this IS leading up to the end of the first year, so the next 4 issues should be big right?  I think so!  So who is this mystery woman on the cover and what’s the deal with that pod-like ship?  Let’s meander ….

Michael Cray #1 Meanderings [WildStorm]

The first spin-off book to come out of The Wild Storm and the 2nd book for the new Warren Ellis curated WildStorm imprint!  I gotta say, it’s nice to see another book on the shelves staring a non-white lead!  I think it’s exciting to have comics of diverse faces and voices.  There are a bunch of Black leads on the shelves today who have their own books (though mostly male).  Black Panther, Black Lightning, Falcon, Cyborg, Spawn, Luke Cage to name a few.

This is another maxi-series with 12 issues!  It really makes me wonder where the WildStorm will be in one year.  We are still expecting at least 2 more series to spin out of The Wild Storm; Zealot and WildC.A.T.s!  Will each series just overlap another as it’s ending, or will what’s ending be replaced to maintain four books in this new WildStorm Universe?  I suppose the success of this imprint will determine that.

As for this series, last we saw Michael Cray, he was being recruited by Trelane who works for SkyWatch’s Earth Division.  What new areas might we discover in the new WildStorm Universe in this book?  Let’s meander ….

The Wild Storm #7 Meanderings + WS Sweepstakes

Going into the 2nd arc of this 24 issue series!  We knew it was 24 issues, but for some reason it’s just now really hitting me that after 24, this series will end.  Then what?  I wonder if after the 24 issues there’ll be a season 2 of the Wild Storm!?!?!

As for this issue and the second arc, will it feature characters that have only made short cameos or mentions thus far like John Colt, or Priscilla Kitaen and introduce new ones?  Lets meander ….
